Loving Father

God is truly the loving Father who lavishes good things on us. There's no way that, at 30 years old, I should still be able to put on my spikes and run the race that has been such a huge part of my life for over 15 years...and still be competitive with college athletes. But God is gracious and has continued to allow me the ability to do something that I love sooo much.

He's giving me a new perspective on competition since the last time I ran for a college team. Back then it was all about getting better and winning and be an All-American or a National Champion or breaking the school record. Now I appreciate it so much more and know that every step I take on that track and every beat of my heart is because He allows it. Now I compete for the love of it and knowing that every time I do something that He's created me to do it brings Him glory! Praise God for His goodness!

Matthew 7:9-11: "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"
